More from the Charlotte Observer/ WCNC poll

Among the 600 Mecklenburg residents, 201 other NC Residents and 300 SC residents surveyed here is how their presidential picks shake out:

Q. Of the following Republican candidates for president, which one -- if any -- would you be most likely to vote for?

Rudolph Giuliani 5.3 % 19.2% 18% 12.9%
John McCain 8.1% 20.1% 11.2% 12.7%

Another 17% 14.7% 20.7% 16.7%

Don't know 4.8% 15.1% 6.6% 11.7%

Q. Of the following Democratic candidates for president, which one -- if any -- would you be most likely to vote for?
Democrat Republican Unaffiliated Total
Hillary Clinton 52.4% 8.8% 16.9% 27.8%
John Edwards 14.3% 10.8% 15.3% 12.7%
Barack Obama 16.7% 7.1% 19.7% 14%
Another 2.7% 14.7% 10.4% 8.5%
None 5.3% 51% 31.8% 27.4%
Don't know 8.6% 7.3% 5.5% 8.8%

Caution: The poll was not of likely primary voters and the methodology is quite unorthodox. Also, Fred Thompson, the leading Republican candidate in North and South Carolina was not included. This poll is not a good measure for predicting any sort of electoral outcome.

However, I thought the political expert that the reporter interviewed was genius.
